Our furnace stopped working on a Saturday morning. We called Dr Furnace and he was at our house within 2hrs. Unfortunately the heat exchanger was cracked so the furnace had to be replaced. He offered us some portable space heaters to keep the house warm untill the new furnace was installed which was great. Wednesday he was there to install the new unit. We are extremely happy with the service he provided and would recommend Dr Furnace...
So my furnace suddenly stops working and with the weather turning as cold as it has lately, I call up the first number I find, which is a highly regarded furnace repair place in Hamilton. Long story short, they come over and diagnose a $1,600 part that's failed and tell me that my motor is going to fail at any time too (another $2,000 expense to come) so I should go ahead and buy a whole new furnace. Don't get me wrong, they were great and their Customer Service was fantastic but seriously?? So 30 minutes after the Tech leaves, one of their sales reps calls me and says he'll be over in 10 minutes to talk about a new furnace. Meanwhile, we give Steve a call at Dr. Furnace, who comes over (same night), has a look and confirms that that the actual issue is something completely different (part replacement required still) and the cost would be about a quarter of what the last guy said...Next day, Steve is over with the part and 10 minutes later, we have heat. Problem solved and we didn't have to incur thousands of dollars in expenses for what would have been the wrong part and we didn't have to spend $7,500 (which is what they quoted) on a brand new furnace. Steve (Dr. Furnace) just fixes things (by his own words) and he did exactly that. Amazing support, fantastic and HONEST communication and Customer Service. Overall a great experience. If you have an issue with your furnace, take it from me...Call Dr. Furnace FIRST!! Problem solved. Thanks Steve.

Steve at Dr. Furnace has provided great service on a number of occasions. For furnace repair when the gas valve was leaking, for an air conditioner replacement when the unit broke in the middle of a heat wave and to install a new gas water heater on short notice when the old one cracked and stopped working. Steve was honest about pricing provided great service. Skip the big chains and their lengthy service contracts and support local business.
