Stopped in for a quick lunch based on the reviews and was not disappointed! This place was amazing. From the food to the service, you can’t go wrong. Had the extravaganza cheesesteak and was full of flavor!
My only regret is getting the medium Mac and cheese instead of the large!! So good!! I only had time for fries and Mac and cheese today and I tell ya I’ll be back!!
Beyond fantastic. Finding a proper Philly Cheesesteak in Canada has been a chore. Few joints outside of Philadelphia have been able to mimic Philly's gift to the world. But Boardwalk has come the closest in Canada. Thinly shaved beef, perfectly caramelized and browned with the right amount of cheese on a soft bun that works like a perfect marriage with the beef. A really great Philly Cheesesteak This was my 3rd visit to Boardwalk Cheesesteak. I live in Toronto but am in Hamilton off and on. Nothing comparable like this place exists in Toronto. I introduced a friend to it prior to a Hamilton Tiger-cats game. He says he will come again and detour off the QEW to Ottawa St to get back here on on his frequent drives to Niagara Bonus idea to do the special cheese of the month. The smoked Gouda was awesome ?
What a disappointment. Their hours aren't great. Finally made it there today while they were open. I was completely underwhelmed. Better sandwiches all over the city.
My husband and I stopped in for lunch after wandering the Craft Crawl and I am so happy we did! Their cheesesteak was amazing! My husband got the extravaganza special and I had the regular cheesesteak. It was delicious, the cheesesteaks were hot and delicious, the provolone kicked it up a notch and the fries were the perfect combination of crispy outside and soft inside. We will be back for sure!
**PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS MASSIVE ACCESSIBILITY ISSUE I HAVE NOT FULLY FACTORED INTO MY REVIEW** As you enter there is a flight of stairs in front of you and a small seating are to the right. If you cannot climb the stairs you cannot reach the counter to order or even see a menu. Although I am sure the staff would assist you, it is a horrible setup if you have difficulty with stairs. That said, I've been here a couple of times and food has been very good each time. There is nothing fancy or healthy about the food here so dispell any notions of that right away, but the it is messy and delicious. Food wise I would like to see improvement in the bun since they use a generic *relatively* thin white bun and although it doesn't hurt the experience it certainly does not enhance it. The only other critique I have is that all of the accessories to the food (straws, cups, wrappers etc) are extremely cheap and generic. Again this doesn't impact the quality of the food, but might impact your experience if that matters to you. Overall I recommend Boardwalk for some messy cheesteaks, but if you struggle with stairs consider bringing a friend who can help you.
The owner should consider how he treats people, not just customers, People who you deal with on a day to day basis. So phony when you only treat customers well because they are paying you.
