Unfortunately, this Active Green & Ross location appears to be driven by money, not honest work. The first time we took our truck in for a tire change, we left with a laundry list of items for repair. This is fair as it’s an old vehicle, but what wasn’t appreciated was the pushy nature of the service staff, and we were left feeling we had no choice but to spend upwards of $3,000 on a vehicle that’s barely worth that much (we took it to another mechanic who assured us of the vehicle’s safety, and we did not pay for the long list of repairs). Our second visit was even worse. They refused to perform a seasonal tire change, stating the summer tires were “too weathered.” We were only told this an hour into the appointment time. Not only was this a waste of time, but they had the audacity to try to sell us a brand new set of tires. Please note an alternate Active Green & Ross performed the tire change no problem the following week. Do your homework, folks, and find a service centre that respects your financial limits and performs the service as you expect.
I told them exactly what I wanted done - i had brakes binding momentarily, I knew they were old and rusty. I asked them to check caliper sliders at all 4 corners, check pads for delaminated shims and rusty retainers, make sure everything is good with the brakes. They test drive it, take the wheels off, put the wheels back on, called me and said they couldn't find anything wrong with it and couldn't reproduce the problem. They wanted to charge me for that, until I argued with them. They ignored my specific request, why did I leave the car there all day, just to have them take the wheels off and do nothing, and fail to find the problem? I said I didn't need them to test drive it and waste time, I wanted the brakes serviced. Waited until Monday and took it to my regular mechanic. He called it before he even saw it. Parking brake shoe binding due to rusted out hold-down pins. He serviced the sliders on all 4 corners which were indeed dry, replaced the bad parking brake parts and Bob's your uncle. These big shops these days don't have the troubleshooting skills of the old-timer mechanics.
Excellent service. Repairs were explained and completed as promised. Reasonably priced and timely service. Extremely satisfied with my experience. Highly recommend this location for repair and service needs.
I recently visited Active Green + Ross for an oil change and some maintenance, and as always, they did an excellent job. The communication was great, and they were transparent about everything that needed to be done. There was a small hiccup with my car starter, and they fixed it at no extra cost, purely out of good faith. It’s reassuring to know there are trustworthy mechanics who genuinely look out for their customers. Highly recommend!
My daughter’s vehicle broke down on a Sunday . They got it in on Monday and made all repairs . I’m In Alberta so along way away. I needs to find a repair facility to trust and their fits are it . Hightower recommended Cheers
