Horrible experience. Will not return! I've been to Paris, and the French food they claim to be serving at this establishment is insulting to the long lineage and great history of French Cooks worldwide.
You've been warned: don't expect French quality, and you still might be disappointed. What this establishment is serving as a croissant or pain au chocolat is a fraud. It is a simple, sweet brioche dough, entirely lacking the proper flaky, buttery layers that define these pastries. The deception extends to their bread, which is a poor imitation difficult to even call a baguette. The most astonishing part? They charge HIGH prices for these fundamentally flawed products. As a French visitor, I found the experience here to be frankly insulting and misleading—it feels like a scam aimed at customers who don't know the real French products quality.
I went in to try some baked goods with my wife and son. After sitting outside in the sun and enjoying them, we went back in to buy more. Everyone in there was nice, chatted with me and talked about their process for the cookies. Really great atmosphere, I would highly recommend.
My go-to place for light, fluffy and deliciously buttery croissants. Recently tried the chocolate eclairs, peach danishes and the sourdough rye bread (which froze really well too). All so very yummy. :) Thank you for the friendly service - love going to your bakery!
Just checking out the area shops while my wife had an appointment and stumbled across this place. My step son and I were in the mood for a snack so it looked like a good option. Well that is an understatement of the treats we chose. The sausage rolls which I figured may be good turned out to be the tastiest option of that I have ever had. As for the pastries we had...absolutely decadent and delicious in a way that I now feel I cannot have any other pastry within 50 km of here. The service was great and the experience was amazing. It is a few dollars for sure but wow....We will be back. I just wish they had a few seating options but maybe me staying there would not be a good thing as I would eat ALL those homemade sausage rolls. Look forward to returning.
It’s okay. Customer service isn’t great but desserts are acceptable. Edit - As the only POC in there at the time, it was obvious why service wasn’t as great.
I gave this place a 1. The owner is racist and refused to recognize it by not returning a courtesy call to discuss further. Asking a potential employee if they can read or write because they have an Arab accent is ridiculous. Asking them to spell flour is more ridiculous. EDIT: I recently gave this place another try being the only bakery in Dundas. The owner or manager was reprimanding an employee at the cash register when we were trying to pay. They very clearly (loud enough for us to hear) asked the employee if they charged the previous person x dollars and made a tsk when the employee responded I'm not sure. I'll assume they didn't respond as they were managing our transaction. Perhaps employee relations are better left for end of shift. Your customers don't need to know your business. We'll make the drive to Westdale or Waterdown going forward. It's a shame because their food here is quite good.
