Such a fun shop, with something for *literally* everyone. So much kitsch and nostalgia, between stacks of wicked graphic novels, and screen print tees!!
Nerdcore completely changed how I felt about getting into comics. I walked in feeling like an outsider, unsure if it was the right hobby for me after only reading comics as a kid. Keith made me feel welcome, offering thoughtful recommendations based on my interests and comfort level. The shop has a great community vibe, and every visit feels more like catching up with a neighbour than just making a purchase. Supporting a local business like this adds a personal touch to every buy. Definitely worth checking out!
Keith is the best comic store owner in Ontario, EASY. He has a diverse collection of mainstream and indie comics. He is also exceptional at recommending comics based on what your tastes are. The book club he offers is awesome for customers. Keith is just an overall cool dude and his store is so fire it'll make you want to keep coming back lol.
I have bought many custom items from Nerdcore over the years which have always been of great value and quality. Recently Angie and Keith hosted my daughter's 8th birthday party and it was a blast. I highly recommend this uniquee opportunity to learn how to screenprint a custom shirt. My daughter was part of the planning process, choosing the image, the text, colour and layout of the shirt. At the party, every kid was thoroughly engaged with the process and best of all got to bring home a unique product that most of them wore right out of the store. The icing on the cake was how fun, patient and kind Angie and Keith were during the party. As always, I am beyond thrilled to support this small business and I highly recommend them to everyone!
We ordered two printed shirts and one of them had a printing error. This happens, and how the store reacted is what leads to the 5 star review. I contacted them via Facebook, and the owner responded immediately, He explained that a step was skipped due to volume (yay for supporting small businesses) and offered to re-do the shirt at no cost. He stayed in contact during the process and sent me a photo to double check that there were no errors. The shirts are of excellent quality, and the customer services ensures that we will be back.
This small business is absolutely fantastic. It's family owned and operated. They offer activities for the kids all the time (well, at least when you're not in the middle of a global pandemic), and have a fantastic selection of graphic novels (comic books, if you will), toys, and clothing to appeal to the nerdiest of nerds. It's not just for nerds though! They have a great selection of products for all ages and interests. I would suggest that, at a minimum, you stop by and check them out at your earliest opportunity. The prices are very reasonable, and they offer a number of handmade products, including the hottest item of 2020 - the cloth face mask.
