Wonderfully curated store, beautiful items that have been thoughtfully selected. A nice variety of solid, wooden toys and well-made items for a variety of ages. This toy store is meant for adults to shop in & not exactly welcoming for children to be touching things, so it’s a little challenging to bring your kiddos here. Well stocked & clean. A smaller footprint but well laid out so it’s easy to shop without being overcrowded with shelves. I like to support local where possible and the prices are comparable to other retailers. It’s wonderful to have a local store that carries toys not made in China.
Wonderful store! Bought a friend a chewlery mushroom necklace for his birthday and he loves it! Great quality items! Some stuff is a bit on the pricier side but for the quality of what you’re buying it’s one HUNDRED percent worth it. Highly recommend everyone to check out this store. Staff are extremely kind people, the owner is a very sweet lady. Best toy store in Hamilton!
Nice products, unique selections although on the pricey side. I'm not a fan of the vibes here though. Unfriendly staff, you have to leave your coffee on a table while you browse. I get it, but It's quite unwelcoming atmosphere Read the other reviews. Trust me, I'm not the only one who feels this way and they haven't changed at all
This store has a wonderful variety of toys for infant, toddlers and beyond, conveniently located on Locke were you can visit other small businesses and shops. We’ve purchased many toys for our toddler and also for gifts. The reason I can’t award it five stars is because the staff in general somewhat unwelcoming and at best, grumpy. It just seems like they don’t really like children there… or people in general. My advice is look at their site before you go so you kinda know what you’re looking for as they will ask you SEVERAL times and don’t bring your young kid with you. It will be uncomfortable.
My daughter and grandson went in the store before Christmas to do some shopping but the sales clerk was following them around the entire time and made them feel very uncomfortable, so they left. I was waiting outside as there was a restriction on the number of people petmitted in the store. I have shopped in the store in the old location before and felt very welcomed but the staff in the new location very hovering over my grandson who was very well behaved . They lost her business that day. Yesterday we thought we would go in there for Easter shopping, but they had a mandatory mask mandate. Mask mandates have been lifted, so once again we did not enter and they lost our business again. We will shop at Toy Soup in St. Jacob which is a wonderful, welcoming toy store with a larger, better selection. As a resident of Locke Street I am very upset with Citizen Kid and the staff.
Absolutely love this store! I love buying quality toys from here for my daughter! They have a large selection of beautiful wooden toys and a lot of “vintage” style toys. Prices seem high, but honestly you’re paying for quality. Would highly recommend!!!
I can’t rave enough about the excellent customer service I was provided. Our 4 year old daughter lost her beloved “Henry” (The Organic Tino Doll Bunny) and she was devastated. Although her original was orange, the manufacturer doesn’t make it anymore. We had her pick out a new one and she chose her favourite colour pink. My order was ready the very next morning and curbside pick up was quick and easy. We were saved many more tears and sleepless nights because of the quick turnaround. We are so grateful! We’ve shopped for a few things here and have always been happy, but especially so this time. Thank you so much!
