The people that work/ volunteer their time to help the community are absolutely wonderful and very caring . Thank you to all of you! I feel truly blessed. ???????☺️

Very good food bank, kind staff. But they need to work on their number system.. the 2 times I have been here, my number was overlooked and my order wasn't placed, there were others who were served before me even though I was before them and this was after already waiting for over 2 hours... other than that this place is amazing.

Great if you really need some help with food, they give you a fair amount of varied things often including eggs and milk, meat and bread, and vegetables. That said this is easily the slowest food bank I've been to, if you don't show up 30 mins to an hour early you will be waiting for 2 or more hours until your number is called. I arrived just as they opened once, and after waiting for an hour they had only served 8 people. I'm sure the staff does their best but I did the math and had I stayed and waited that day, and the service had continued at that pace, I would have been waiting there until near closing time to be seen (Nearly 4 hours). I left and went to the mission and was in and out in 20 minutes and got roughly the same amount of food. I spent significantly more time walking to, waiting, and walking from the Welcome Inn than I did to get served at the Mission location. They do what they can but I feel like their process could use a big change to serve people in a more efficient manner, no other food bank I've been to has been more than a 1-2 hour wait if I arrive as they open, so unless you can come early I would advise trying one of the other food banks. On another note, if you accidentally park somewhere that you shouldn't they will happily call bylaw on you and have you ticketed, I've seen it multiple times, so be careful where you park. They do warn you about it, so fair play, but it feels kind of wrong to me that they're getting clearly impoverished people ticketed with hundred dollar fines just because they're annoyed at where you've parked. People cannot afford food let alone these fines, please stop doing this to people. The bylaw officers are not patrolling that street every day, they're clearly being called. I've given it a generous 3 star review here, mostly because the staff is friendly and they give you quite a bit, but I actively avoid coming to this food bank unless I'm absolutely desperate because of the above issues.

I feel so luck to be in the same neighborhood as The Welcome Inn. Great staff, especially Michelle who runs all the kid programs there, because of her there is always a huge group of kids wanting to return each year. They are always helping the community and giving to people in need. I highly recommend checking them out.

I have been in Canada since March 2024, I have been to this food bank about five times during this time, everything was always fine, but today the woman working there just shocked me. It was insulting and humiliating, I tried to take bread, since I do not know English and did not know that I had to go to this display case, after they called my number, the woman almost tore my arms off and said - Go down, you are not allowed bread. This is a disgrace!!

Love this place and these people. Great for new residents or homeless and hungry. Only visit if you are low income and in need. They check ID. You can come once per month.

As one community member put it, "they're good people". Provide much needed services to a number of communities in the north end of Hamilton and beyond.
