My son bought a pair of running shoes last Saturday but it was too tight around the toes. He called the store on Tuesday and asked whether they have the wide width in store and the lady told him they have a pair in stock and will hold till weekend. My son went today and tried on but he noticed the shoes have been worn and were dirty so he pointed out and asked the salesperson (older lady), she told my son that that’s the only pair in that size so my son just exchanged and bought that used pair home. The shoes were dirty and the white wrapper was filled with tiny gravel and dirt so I gave him an earful and told my husband to return and ask for refund. My husband went back to the store and the same old lady served my husband. My husband said to her that the shoes look used and right the way she said oh, yeah let me check whether we have another pairs and later came back with a brand new pairs. Without asking anything nor scanning the new pairs off their system, she just gave my husband the new pairs and took the old shoes. I found this lady’s practice is quite questionable and it’s a deceitful and dishonest sales practices.
I need new running shoes for distance and I’ve been trying to come into the store for almost a month but I have a busy schedule and unfortunately the hours in this location are extremely limited. One of the only running stores in Hamilton and it closes before I can make it there every day. Shame.
I had great experience, even though I didn’t buy anything I was recommended by the attendant there to go to mountain equipment warehouse in Burlington. If I need to buy just road shoes I’m sure I will come back there due to the large selection and variety of colours.
Unbelievably great service yesterday morning. Wish I knew the woman’s name that helped for next time. Her knowledge will help us through the years. I hope everyone goes to get a gait analysis and learn what shoe is right for you. What a difference! Thank you!
Wonderful experience at this store. Went in for a gait analysis and ready to purchase specialty shoes but the lady was super honest and told me she didn't think new shoes would solve my issues. She went so far as to look up my current shoes (fairly new and purchased elsewhere) to see if they were intended for what I was using them for and told me they were actually really good and suggested I first consult a chiropractor. She offered knowledge and honesty instead of grabbing the sale. That is exactly the sort of service I would hope for from a specialty store like this and they more than delivered. I ended up purchasing a few small items but will certainly be back. Highly recommend.
I expect more in a specialty brick and mortar store, they failed. Unfortunately I have returned to the big box stores and online shopping. This location won't last. I hate to say it but this store is sub-par. They do not carry certain shoe brands, like Adidas (available online). When I asked to get a specific make and model in store so I could buy it, they did not try. I bought them at Sport Chek. They have a small selection of gels (far more available online), the way this shelf is stocked look like they have supplier issues. I found Sport Chek, Popeyes, and cycling stores a better choice. Service has become apathetic. Too bad.
