Was so cool! I remember going here as a kid, was amazing to be able to bring my kids. You can go everywhere, they don't restrict you much at all. So affordable as well.
Thoroughly enjoyed our time aboard the HMCS Haida. I thought it would be an hour diversion with my husband to give him "something manly" to do instead of renting a bike or eating at a froofy cafe. We spent 2 hours there, and could have easily spent another hour if I wasn't sore and cranky. This attraction is NOT handicapped accessible. If you are above average size, expect to be slightly uncomfortable several times, but not all the time. I recommend this, both for fun and history education, and it was easy on the budget.
Excellent place to go. My kids loved it. We learn a lot. It takes about 90 to 120 minutes to get through the whole ship. We went a second time and the kids were even more excited. Since it is a ship, there are a lot of tripping hazards everywhere. Nice experience overall.
The HMCS Haida will fill your head with all sorts of neat Canadian history. You'll learn why she is often referred to as The Fightingest Ship In The Royal Canadian Navy. She served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1943 to 1963 but now calls Hamilton her home. The facility provides self guided tours for those curious to learn mare about her storied past and really leaves you feeling small in comparison to her size and accomplishments. You'll tour through the various levels of the ship, including living quarters, captains quarters as well as the engine room, communication room and various other facilities. The ship also offers great views of the Hamilton Harbour. There is on-site parking available, as well as a small military museum and gift shop.
One of the best heritage spots in Hamilton. The staff members are super sweet and are quite equipped with facts. The whole ship is well maintained and proper descriptions are provided wherever possible. Anyone who wishes to make a visit to Bay front park should hands down visit this place..
