Absolute scam...beware!! These people are criminals. They were supposed to move our stuff yesterday (from Stoney Creek to Ancaster) and one of their guys got sick so the rest of them just left without finishing the job. They told us they were going to finish first thing this morning and just didnt show up and are now not returning our calls. Half of the stuff we needed to move is now sitting in the garage at our old house and we are struggling to find new movers to finish the job last minute after paying Safeway Movers in full. DO NOT HIRE this company. I will be spreading the word on social media as well. You should be ashamed of yourselves scamming innocent people and causing so much stress when a move is stressful enough already.
I have used Safeway Movers twice now and both time you have exceeded my expectations. This time Mike and Clint were fast friendly and took great care of my items. This is the only moving company I would use or recommend. Thanks Guys for making the move easier.Colleen S.
So, last minute all my personal movers (family and friends) bailed.....like I'm sure most of us have happen; even though the reward of beer, pizza and complaining of sore backs and one idiot friend who always breaks something.......everyone bailed the night before the move. One quick call and spoke with Leann who is the Office Manager for Safeway Movers in Stoney Creek. Before I knew it, had three guys booked and a truck ready for first thing in the morning to pick up the odds and ends that wouldn't fit in our moving storage unit. We've all heard the stories of movers taking your stuff hostage and leaving the province. We've heard of Hulk sized men being rude and breaking stuff and not caring. Well, I can tell you, these guys were awesome. Really good guys, hard working crew. They went over the agreed upon time slot, but only because we are idiots and didn't time it right. They stayed and finished the job and you know what????? My back doesn't hurt. I can walk properly today; why?? Cause I didn't move anything. I don't hate any of my friends for breaking my grandmothers urn or for going through my teenage years boxes of informational/pictorial magazines. On a serious note, if you're looking for the below, considering calling Leann to set you up.*on time crew*properly quoted and given full heads of additional time/charge it needed (they didn't bail on us when our time was up)*safe and careful when moving full sized glass shelving units and tables (I was fully expecting something to be broken and it wasn't)*if you're looking for a cheap crew of guys to move your house and not break stuff...good luck. Cheap guys have cheap hands.*if you're looking for a fair rate knowing things will be done right and allow you to worry on something else, call Leann. Damaged belongings. Charged twice the agreed amount to credit card claiming excessively over weight. Met the truck at the scales after many horrible phone conversations explaining how dumb we are at math and how are scales are way off. I had suggested driving 5hrs to their warehouse to take stuff back. Not an option. Told them to throw stuff out, they would need to bill us for that. Yeah they ended up overcharging 900lbs and took over 2 months to get the money back after many phone calls and emails. Terrible customer service. Charged the credit card more than once with no authority. Manager guy doesn't return calls as he promises and is a douchebag at that. We would never use them again. Would highly advise anyone else not to either. Terrible experience on all fronts. Scammers got called out on their BS and got caught. Most ppl won't fight back as they rip you off and keep your stuff hostage.
We used Safeway Movers for our recent move from Caledonia to Port Dover. The 3 movers were super friendly and worked extremely hard for us. They were professional and did an EXCELLENT JOB!! Absolutely no damage to any of our things or either of our homes. I couldn't be happier. My only suggestion would be that a staff member should come out in advance to assess things before the move... the truck that was sent for our home BARELY fit everything in it. It was extremely tight and we were in awe that the guys actually got it all packed in. I packed as much as I could into our car and truck to help with the situation.I think bringing a 53' trailer would have been the more suitable choice for our home - but at the end of the day, the guys got it done and got it done RIGHT. So that's all that matters.I would absolutely recommend Safeway to anyone with a move coming up. Can't say enough about the guys and I'm so grateful and appreciative of the work they did for us.
