I attended my brothers and my new sister in laws wedding here and it could not have been more perfect. Every single detail was thought of. It was so beautifully decorated exactly how the bride wanted. The staff was wonderful and extremely attentive. Food was great! They did a wonderful job at getting everyone their food in a timely fashion the drinks were fabulous. They truly went above and beyond for us.
I walked and played the course on a windy day in early October. There are three sets of nine - one had a number of blind tee shots (which I don’t love) but the course is very well laid out. Nice design, nicely maintained, and well run. I will definitely be back
I am not sure if maybe the course has been severely let go since the last reviews but my experience was significantly different. My first time at this course. The tee boxes on a lot of holes had next to no grass on them or clearly had not seen a drop of water. Hard to get footing hitting your drive off of dirt. Most sand traps don't look like they have been touched either. By the time we got to the 12th hole we decided to walk off the course as we became the 3rd group standing at the tee box and no marshals in sight as we were waiting on every hole. A hole sooner a group ahead of us walked back to the clubhouse as well and we quickly found out why. Otherwise we would have been 4 groups behind. After standing waiting before what seemed like almost every shot we just couldn't take it anymore. Even taking away all of that there were way too many holes with blind tee shots and tight tight fairways to make it enjoyable. Just an honest review from a 47yr old who golfs weekly.
We just went to a wedding here and the grounds were stunning, food was delicious, and amazing service. Julie and the Flamborough Hills staff were amazing and highly recommend. We will be back!
Just finished a Father’s Day round with my young son. He absolutely loved it. The course itself is nice and would happily come back based on the condition of the course, but the cart was infuriating. At first the gps screen was amazing, you can see how far you are away from the hole, play music through your phone, use the electronic scorecard, etc… but that soon wore off. On the fourth hole of the hills, I was in the rough on the left side and out of nowhere it says I was in an environmentally sensitive area. It limited the speed of the cart to a literal snails pace. I tried to go back towards the fairway thinking it would release the speed limiter, and it wasn’t until I got to the center of the fairway that it finally released the limiter. I even tried to push the cart to help it along, but it didn’t make a difference. That was at least 4-5 minutes of barely moving until I could keep going on the hole. At the start of hole 7, I got us each a chocolate bar from the beer cart and my twix was flattened and melted. On hole 7, I was 65 yards from the green (thanks to the handy GPS telling me so) and it said I was too close to the green and once again limited my speed to the snails pace. Went the opposite way of the green to get it to release and that took another few minutes. The group behind wasn’t too impressed but there was absolutely nothing I could do, nor did I have any means of knowing how long it would be until I could start moving again normally. We both got out an pushed, but to no avail. Would be very helpful if the screen would show boundaries where it starts to limit speed and where you need to get to in order to release the limiter. My son was having fun so I put on a happy face, but inside I was not impressed. He really wants to go back, but I’ll probably look elsewhere, or at the very least walk the course. Learned a good lesson though… when you get a cart, ask if it has a gps and if so, will it limit the speed. The electronic scorecard was so unintuitive that we stopped using it after 6 holes as we realized half the scores were for the wrong person. Nice course and nice facility, would give it 5 stars, but the carts killed it for me.
