Was out for lunch at HamBRGR on Ottawa Street with a friend and stumbled upon this wicked little cheese joint next door. Very friendly owner with a tasty selection of Ontario sourced products. Ottawa street was really beginning to boom and thrive before Covid. I’m very happy to see these businesses are prevailing.
I love this shop. They sell local sourdough bread on Sundays and carry a plethora of dairy cheeses and a couple of vegan ones too. I'm so glad to have this shop in the neighbourhood.
Update: New location! Thank goodness still on Ottawa Street just a few doors north of the original spot. Same great cheese, same terrific service. It's worth trying the cheese subscription, a monthly cheese box of amazing different cheeses. CHEESE! Thanks Yvette. One of the gems of the Ottawa Street food and beverage scene, East Hamilton Cheese, is the place to go for local and Ontario artisanal cheeses. Yvette, the proprietor, is a wonderful welcoming "cheeseologist" (as per the sign on the shelf). Cheese by the piece is available, and Yvette also has a monthly cheese box subscription. My partner's favourite brie (Evi's Passion from Udder Way) is available without the drive to Hannon. Yvette also has an Ontario produced gouda (including my favourite, cumin gouda) from Thunder Oak Cheese. Support local, enjoy cheese!
This is one of my regular spots on Ottawa Street. There Is always a great selection of local cheese and the owner is amazing! They are always friendly and provide great customer service. I can always trust them to help me pick out the perfect cheese!
Terrific customer service - went above and beyond to facilitate a purchase from out of town (they carry a wonderful seasonal cheese which I got as a gift last year). Will stop in next time in Hamilton to get the in person experience. Thank you so much for being so great.

Love the cheeses at this shop. The selection is well curated and the owner is a lovely woman who is very knowledgeable about her products and happy to help you find the right one for you. Try the Handeck, it's an absolutely amazing cheese!
