Fantastic selection of trees! If you don't see what you want 8 bet they have it on one of their farms. Marilyn was super helpful and knowledgeable as well.
I’d like to start with the positive - I have always gone to the Connon in Newmarket and have had wonderful experiences there. The plant selection is amazing and prices are great. My first trip to Connon in Waterdown left a bad taste in my mouth because of 2/3 customer service interactions. My first interaction with a staff member was actually amazing - he was super helpful and personable (and is the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of one). The next two interactions not so much… one lady I asked for help was very standoffish and dismissive, literally walking away from me as I was asking questions about some of their products. Later, when I was cashing out, I was trying to bring items up from the bottom of my cart to make it easier for the lady to scan them (something that I don’t feel is out of the norm?). I guess as I was picking the plants up the plastic on one of the containers snapped and I kinda half dropped it back onto the cart so it wouldn’t fall. The lady snapped at me to just let her do it. She did acknowledge afterwards that she saw I was trying to be helpful but her demeanour remained pretty curt. I love Connon Nurseries, don’t get me wrong, but I really don’t want to have to further interact with staff who couldn’t be less enthused about dealing with customers… usually when I take a trip to the garden centre it’s something I enjoy and feel refreshed and happy after. After yesterday’s trip, I felt pretty crappy and I really hope no one else who loves their garden centre trips is made to feel that way.
Purchased 2 cedars about a month ago. The two cedars did not make it. Called about the warranty they said they don't do warranty on discounted purchases. I was never told about a warranty void due to the discount. Sales representative did not warn me about the purchase nor did they explain. Now I am out almost $200 on two dead cedars.
Kathryn is very knowledgeable, kind, and caring. I was a student at the University of Guelph’s horticulture diploma program. I have known Kathryn for 2 years, and she is very supportive towards me. Whenever I finished a semester and received my grades, I would telephone her and tell her about what I learned. It was good for me to share my horticultural experiences, and that led to my success in my program.
I have had a wonderful experience dealing with Paul Bandiera at Connon Nurseries in Waterdown. Paul is so friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and goes above and beyond in assisting me with my landscaping project. I don’t know what I would have done if our paths didn’t cross during my first visit to Connon’s. I would highly recommend asking for Paul, you won’t be disappointed in the exceptional level of service he provides. Thank you, Paul, I sincerely appreciate your help!
