I’ve been a loyal customer of this Mexican spot for years at the farmers market, which makes this experience especially disappointing. Two of their most popular menu items are now served strictly halal. When I politely asked whether there were any non-halal alternatives, the cashier responded in an extremely rude and condescending manner. She dismissed my question by making inaccurate and inappropriate comments about halal practices, reducing them to “just a prayer read off a screen,” and insisting there was “no difference” in the meat. This explanation was not only incorrect, but also disrespectful toward Muslim religious practices. It is not appropriate for staff to trivialize or compare religious beliefs in order to pressure a customer into a purchase. When I reiterated that I was simply asking about alternatives, I was told to go elsewhere if I didn’t want the product. Offering halal options is completely valid and inclusive. However, inclusivity should go both ways, and customers should be treated with respect regardless of their dietary or religious preferences. The dismissive and hostile delivery of this interaction left a very bad impression, and unfortunately, I will not be returning.
They don’t mark prices on any of the products they have for sale, posting an excuse that ‘prices change every day’. If you intend to sell a product, you should have a price tag on it as to not confuse your customers, and I don’t know if it’s legal obscure that, I’ll definitely take a look into that.
The chilaquiles here are amazing. Crispy tortillas with rich sauce, tender chicken, crema and cheese. Authentic, flavourful and a must try at the Hamilton Farmers Market.
Best Mexican food in Hamilton. We eat there every time we visit the farmers' market and it's 10/10 Every. Single. Time. By now we have our regular order of the birria cheese tacos and the carnitas torta. These are our absolute favourites. But we tried some of their other options, and pretty much anything they make is delicious. There's a lot of variety whether you love your food spicy or not. Their sauces and guac are always a hit as well. Everything tastes fresh, homemade, and packed with flavour. They also sell a lot of their products in the store part of this place, and you can buy everything you need to make these fantastic meals at home.
Literally the best Mexican cuisine we've ever had. The Cochinita pibil was unbelievably good. I cant stress enough how good it was. Got fairly busy at lunch time but we rocked up at 1130ish and it was fine. Will be back, many more times.
If I could give 0, I would. I'm tired of purchasing expired products. They do not check their expiry date OR maybe they do and they try to sell them past the point of expiration anyways. Truly sickening. I will never purchase a product from here again and I will make sure to tell others to check the expiration dates if they purchase from this store.
My husband and I come here very often for lunch or dinner dates. The atmosphere is amazing, they have a small seating area and tons of products to browse. Typically they have a 3 for $12 of which you can mix and match. That’s what we usually get. In one of the pics, we ordered an extra pupusa. The food is tremendously delicious. The tacos and pupusas are worth every dollar and I love that you can mix it up and try something new every time. If you’ve never has pupusas before, I highly recommend you try them and I highly recommend that you come here. It is family owned and the customer service is A1. We always feel so welcome. Don’t forget that they have an array of products as well that you can browse and shop. We started purchasing our tortilla chips and corn tortillas here. Excellent quality.
