My favourite restaurant. Been here countless times and I think it's safe to say that even their worst dish would still be good. I like the older lady waitresses she's always very friendly. They have very cute decore too but tbh the food is so good I hardly notice anything around me when I'm eating there lol
Sio shokudo is such a warm and comforting place and the food represents exactly that! Definitely a great spot in Hamilton to check out. Pictured here is the teriyaki chicken don which was excellent.
The food was really good and quite authentic. The restaurant was quite aesthetic and has very nice vibes. I got the eel rice bowl and it was a decent price and tasted very good. Also got the egg rolls, quite recommend!
Excellent food, with excellent service. The food seems to be very authentic - I have never been to Japan - with a very friendly staff in a very nice atmosphere. It's my go to place for comfort Japanese food and avoid the mainstream sushi places.
Hamilton, meet your next flavour obsession. Sio Bento is a hidden gem bringing beautifully bold and balanced Japanese flavours to the heart of the city — and every dish here tells a story. Thoughtfully crafted, deeply comforting, and packed with flavour, it’s the kind of place where each bite makes you pause (in the best way). We started with the Omelette Curry with Chicken Cutlet — crispy, seasoned chicken that gave way to juicy tenderness inside. The omelette had a fresh herbal lift, the rice underneath was perfectly sticky, and the curry? Like a silky, spiced gravy that tied it all together. Unique flavours that harmonized perfectly. Next, the Gyu Don with beef: smoky, melt-in-your-mouth pieces of beef over rice, subtly sweet and umami-rich. Total comfort food. Order an hour ago and heck the uber driver put my food in the wrong place again. This is not the first time Being like this. Tired to contact with the uber but not work. Like does every uber down there don't know how to use Google map?
Food came in good time. Piping hot. Great presentation. Open kitchen concept where the cooks are very friendly when you come in and leave. Food wise, chicken karaage and okonomyaki had more sauce than I prefer. Karaoke shouldn't have sauce. It tasted more like General Tao with the sauce. It was still good. I'd recommend to hold the sauce. I wish I got Japanese potato salad instead of a green salad. Granted, I assumed. I liked the side dishes that came with it. Yes, to the meal set. I wished the okonomyaki had more veg. As mentioned, it's a little heavy on the sauces. I'll pass on this dish for next time. Overall, it's still very tasty. Menu looks like there are many options. It looks fairly traditional Japanese in food preparation. However, they may have made some NA tweeks. Can't be too bad. There were people constantly coming in and out dining or takeout orders. I recommend checking it out.
