I had an amazing experience at the salon today! This was my first time getting a perm, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I showed Olivia a couple of pictures of the hairstyle I wanted, and she nailed it perfectly.
This was my first time at Olivia’s Hair Salon (she was recommended to me by a friend) and I am so glad I came! Olivia was so patient with me. She listened to what I wanted for my haircut and was honest about what needed to be done to get my desired look. She also constantly checked in after a few cuts to make sure I could see if the hair wasn’t getting too short or if I am still happy with how it is going. Finally, this is an important one - she helped me understand my hair. She even explained and showed me how to style my hair! I feel great because my hair looks fantastic! But I am also really happy that I now know how to look after my hair.
Poor communication. I had an appointment at 3:00pm. But I have to wait until 3:30pm to get the service. 30 mins of waiting is the longest wait I had in my life to have a hair cut, not to mention I had a appointment before coming. I asked for a (total price - 8$) discount. The stuff refused without any further proper communication. The stuff don’t feel sorry for the delay and take that as a normal thing. Feels like my time is not respected here. Really bad experience :(
I noticed that the owner always attacks anyone who leaves a negative review, so expect a reply from them like so. I've been a customer here for a little over a year. Have had some incidents of her bumping into my eyes with force, even after telling her to avoid doing so. After my most recent experience, I'll never be back. I had got fresh piercings on my ears which hurt to the touch. She grazed over them with a plastic brush roughly twice before I told her to avoid that area. She then did the exact same thing a couple minutes later twice on my other ear, which hurt like crazy, because the brush caught on my piercing and she yanked it away quickly. I will never be back.
I really wanted to like this salon. The booking process was quick and efficient, with a friendly gentleman over the phone. When I arrived at the salon, I began describing my desired haircut (e.g., face framing layers, bangs at the chin, and a gentle sloping U-shape in the back), but the stylist interrupted me and asked to see a picture. I agreed and showed her a video of the reference that I wanted. The stylist then completed the majority of my haircut using a razor blade on dry hair. Not only was the result uneven, but the entire process was abnormally painful as she yanked on and ran a dull blade through my hair. She also stated that she didn't offer hair thinning using the thinning shears. I stated that this would be okay, as I liked the thickness of my hair. At the end, I stated that the hairstyle was a little chunky and that the layers weren't defined. She stated that the style was not defined as my hair was too thick and too dry. If I had known that the style required thinning, I would've agreed to it. She also did not show me what the back of my hair looked like, only the front. Eventually, I just agreed that I was okay with it, paid, and left. I just wanted to get out of that chair. I will be getting another haircut from a different salon to revise what has been done here. Below I attached the reference (with the caption on top) and what my hair looked like when I got home. EDIT: Thanks for asking if I had gotten my haircut at your salon. Please see the proof of payment from my appointment on Saturday. EDIT #2: I am not working or involved in the hairstyling industry. I only wanted to highlight the amazing service and welcoming atmosphere that I received at another another establishment. I have changed my review to 1-star after the owner of Olivia Hair Salon questioned whether I had my haircut at their establishment and accused me of working for a different hair salon.
i hadn’t cut my hair for over a year and had no idea what to do. i then found this place from a friend and looked at the photos and saw that olivia does an amazing job cutting hair. i went in and showed her a picture of what i wanted and was surprised to see that the photo’s haircut was perfectly cut onto my head. it’s safe to say i’m please with it and will go back again
She is very skilled and has no trouble recreating the desired effect. It helps if you bring a photo to describe what you want. As a male, I got a Korean style "2-block" haircut (similar to an undercut).
