Let me start off by saying I was greeted by a very helpful and pleasant lady, who was very accommodating and was able to get my car looked at and fixed the same day. The gentleman who called me to discuss what needed to be fixed was very helpful and provided a lot of details on what needed to be done as well as the pricing. I am very pleased with the work and the work was fair priced. My only negative thing to say is that when I got my car back, my seat, armrest, steering wheel and the inside of my door all had grease marks smeared on it. I understand that my car is not brand new, but it is my car and it's the only one that I have, so I'd be lying if I said I wasn't irritated after spending $600 to find grease on various areas on the inside of my car and don't appreciate the fact that I got to spend a half an hour when I get home with baking soda, a rag and mild soap cleaning up the interior fabric that most likely won't be the same after I'm done cleaning it.
I've dealt with a lot of shops over the years in several provinces. Putney's is easily the best and fantastic to deal with. Clear and concise estimates, great communication and a nice interface for seeing what they are finding. Prices are fair and quality of work is great. John, the service advisor, is fantastic to deal with and a shout out to Melissa for the great work done on my Volvo. Highly recommend and will continue to be a repeat customer.
All of the staff were great. Explained all work to be done, gave options, and repaired based on what was required. Paul and his team treated me better than I could have expected.
My alternator blew in my car and they managed to get it fixed the same day it happened! I've been taking my car here when I can for a while and if they were open Saturdays I wouldn't take my car anywhere else for fixes.
I moved to Hamilton 6 months ago and needed a reliable shop as I drive for work. Putney's has over-exceeded my expectations with every visit. They are quick to help, more than understanding and most importantly HONEST! They sent my car home free of charge because my breaks still had good life left on them. They truly are a dynamite shop that I can trust to fix my car without nickel and diming or giving me false advice. I’ve taken my car here 8 or 9 times and would highly recommend anyone support this local shop. Honest, hard-working local folks who you can trust to have your back! The best!!
Took my Volvo to this shop with a noise coming from the suspension. I thought I would be in for a nasty surprise but they diagnosed and repaired the vehicle the same day. Honest, friendly staff. Great work. I would 100% recommend visiting Putney’s for your vehicle repairs.
July 2025: Had belts and brake pads replaced. Same quality parts and service as the last visit. Professional and courteous Staff. March 2020: Found the problem with the vehicle quickly and replaced only what was necessary. Very Professional service.
